There are loads of activities for children to do in Barbados. Ignoring the obvious pleasures of the beach (and the Sandy Lane Property Owners' Beach is great for children - clear, gentle waters and a golden stretch of sand), don't miss the Barbados Wildlife Reserve with its green monkeys, tortoises, snakes, deer and other animals, most of whom wander freely.
Or take a trip to the northernmost tip of the island and climb down into the Animal Flower Cave, a great favourite with children.
Harrison's Cave is also well worth a trip - particularly good if you have a day when the weather is not so great.
Jumping the waves at Foul Bay is another option but be very careful here - the waves and currents are very strong.
Atlantis Submarine, running out of Bridgetown, is a treat.
And don't forget to take them to the show on a Friday night at Glitter Bay to see the limbo and fire eating.
